army historian
Hello all, I just picked up this small group to Major General Donald H. Connolly WW2 Commander Iran/Iraq Command. He earned the Army Distinguished Service Medal and a Legion of Merit. The photo seems to have been taken around 1919/20. He is wearing a WW1 Victory ribbon and one overseas stripe, rank Colonel. The name tag in the lower left is old c. 1920s-1930s possibly WW2. The Legion of Merit ribbon is 1/2 inch high and has the old WW2 clutch backs. Since I have very little invested in this I figured it was a nice interesting little group. I also got some of his son's ribbons and rank insignia - Col. Donald H. Connolly Jr. Cheers Captain Albert
