Marcin L Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Dear all, please help me with identification of shoulder board showed below. Can't decipher the monogram myself Thank you and kind regards, Marcin Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Mike Dwyer Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 The black and red chevrons indicate it's from the Kingdom of Württemberg. None of the references I have, which are very few, show this particular cypher so I can't tell you exactly which regiment it belongs to.
The Prussian Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) This one is the shoulder board of an Oberleutnant as a "Flügeladjutant des Königs von Württemberg" ( "aide-de-camp of the king of Württemberg") It shows the personally "W" for Wilhelm II von Württemberg and the "R" for Rex Edited July 3, 2011 by The Prussian 1

Would you be so kind and provide me with any additional information on "Flügeladjutant des Königs von Württemberg"? Is it a common shoulder board? Thanks, Marcin
Chip Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Hello Andy, Where did you find this? I could not see it in "Das Deutsche Heer". Excellent reply, by the way. Chip

Is it a common shoulder board? Thanks, Marcin Hi Marcin! I think, it´s a quite rare shoulder board. Normally the Flügeladjutanten were staff-officiers, but I think they had deputies too. The Flügeladutanten were a chain link between the king and the armies or the army corps. Chip. I found the monogramm on plate 3 of the "collection of Gluska". It was shown in an edition of the "Zeitschrift für Heereskunde jan/feb. 1978.
