Deruelle
Hi everybody, Today I received photos of saxon officers. And one has attract my attention. Indeed this officer has received the Saxon Albert commander cross 2nd class with swords on ring. I want to know when this officer received this medal. The surprise is that this medal is not appeared on Roth's book. I find more info elsewhere. The name of this officer : Generalmajor a. D Erich Straube (1858-1925) he received the following medals : SH3 SV3a SA2bXaR SA3X SA3a SDA BMV4Kr EK2 EK1 He received the officer cross with swords on 14 January 1916 and the commander cross on 10 May 1918. For the moment, I have no idea how many commander cross 2nd cl with swords on ring has been awarded during WW1. I will continue my research Christophe

Deruelle
I have found, for the moment, only four saxon officers who received the Saxon Albert commander cross 2nd class with swords on ring : 1 Generalmajor 3 Obersten The first officer during the war to receive it was : - Oberst Albert Scheibe (1846- ?): 18 Juni 1915. - Oberst Konstantin von Baumann (1846- ?) : 10 May 1918. - Generalmajor Erich Straube (1858-1925): 10 May 1918. - Oberst Hermann von Kiesenwetter (1865-1926) : 24 July 1918. in the book of Weber, Arnold, Keil, Die Orden des Königreiches Sachsen, the autors say that during the aera 1890-1918, 39 SA2bXaR in gold were awarded and 7 in silver vergoldet. If someone has news about this cross, don't hesitate to post it here, thanks Christophe

Deruelle
Many thanks René for this info, I have missed it completely. So during WW1, only 4 front officers received this cross. If someone has photo of Scheibe and Baumann, it would be great to see them Christophe
