new world Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Very nice set!!! It's Type II, awarded from 1932 to 1946.
T.M.T. Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hi, Very beautiful order set. This is Order - Crown Of Romania, 2nd. type for military in time of war. It was awarded from 1938 till 1945 (Royal Decree no: 4354/19.XII.1938). Dimensions for: - Commander class: 56 mm. - Great Officer class: commander class - 56 mm. and breast star - 65 mm. - Grand Cross class: cross - 60 mm. and breast star - 75 mm. I think your order is Great Officer class. Please mesure anothe one. And it's made in bronze because I don't see any mark (mint mark or silver mark). I have also this type fabricated by Rudolf Souval in officer class and in commander class. The original ribbon for it is very very harg to see and to get. On Ebay you can see the new fabrication, recently made. If you have another question I can try to respond you soon. If, in the future, this order is for sell, please advise me.
North Denmark Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) Thanks a lot for your comments. I have given wrong measures on the breast star, it´s 75 x 75 mm. As you can see in the picture the star is wider than the badge. I apologize for the error. T.M.T. is absolutely right, the breast star is made of silvered bronze. You can see the silver is worn off on the left and bottom tip. The badge is also solid bronze. This order fits this description of the grand cross, except that Rudolf Souval is not mentioned: http://koti.mbnet.fi...%20Part%20I.pdf (page7) I could use some help with the selection of the sash, here are a few examples: http://www.jkmilitar.../Rom/Rom-72.JPG http://www.jkmilitar...m/Frameset.html http://www.ribbonssh...n-crown-type-2/ Thanks for your interest and assistance. Photos are welcome here Regards North Denmark
new world Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) There are couple guys on eBay selling modern ribbons of decent, but I think they mostly cover lower classes and more common awards (i.e.no Grand Cross sashes). Edited October 19, 2011 by new world
