landsknechte Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Never really thought about this before, until picking up a bar with a OZL with silver swords. Do silver swords on a Z?hringer L?wen indicate a 2nd Class award, and gold swords a 1st Class?--Chris
Stogieman Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 That would be a good rule of thumb, but it's not always 100% accurate!
Guest Rick Research Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Z?hringen Lion Xs are always gold. The swords were gold colored regardless of the metal the rest of the badge was made of.
Stogieman Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 then how did they distinguish between classes? Or did they not at all?Looks like the example shown has silver swords to me?
Guest Rick Research Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 They didn't.Just like the Saxon Saint Henry--no way to tell apart a Knight, a gold medal, or a silver medal.
Stogieman Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 hmmmmmmmmm, clues, clues, clues. I always like the clues.
