Chris Boonzaier Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Hi, not being much of a uniform guy, I need a quick info... on an M10 tunic to bavarian Artillery.... what should I look for on the collar? Should it be the same color as the rest of the tunic... or green? How many "other ranks" would have had a stand up collar? Thanks Chris
Chip Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 An M07/10 artillery Feldrock's collar should be the same color wool as the rest of the tunic with black piping. Stand up collars would be strictly a private purchase item and could have been purchased by anyone, but normally would be seen on an NCO's tunic. I have an issue example of such a Bavarian artillery tunic with the stand and fall collar. Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Hi Chip, what do you think of this one? http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130614406683&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:DE:1123 Has no B.A stamp, I think a start of the war private purchase, but made for issue jacket? The "6" is a bit funny though? Best Chris
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 I am thinking a private purchase, approved by the regiment, hence the "Eigentums" and Regt stamp.
Chip Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Chris, The strap is OK, with typical Bavarian private purchase soutache number. The sloppiness of the number is also typical of Bavarian strap numbers. They rarely used the serifs and curlicues to fancy-up their numbers and often placed them off-center or askew. Chip
