Chris Boonzaier Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Sometimes there is something written on a doc where we are not so clear what the man did, although we have a vague idea.Does anyone know what Rittmeister Paul Klinger, commandant der K.H.Qu beim Gen Kdo. XV bay. Res.Korps did? Was he a liason man?
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 Another try for this.... :-)
Guest Rick Research Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 We wuz waiting for the Very Nice Scans. That says he was Commandant of the Corps Headquarters-- the direct "boss" of the personnel, baggage, supplies, transport-- everything required to run and move said organization. I'm surprised somebody higher ranking didn't get the job, especially given the number of cigar lighetrs and door openers who accumulated at such postings.Since he was a young guy (b. 1885) and had no apparent claim to vast organizational skills beyond having been posted from 7th Light Horse to Personal Adjutant of Prinz Alfons the year before the war, it's a mystery.I'd have expected a much older type in such a job, even if not partucularly higher in rank as a reservist.Klinger should have been at the front....
