Vaughan B Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) Hi, I have acquired this tunic from a friend. Unfortunately the pips had been removed (inexplicable to me why or when) and cannot be found with other of the gentlemans effects. Could anybody please help in identifying the type of pips required to restore this tunic (with pics if possible) and if possible identify the medal ribbons? I only know that the officer was a Major Reginald Brown. It would be very interesting to me if research was a possibility howver that is probably unlikely. Thank`s in advance for any info. QSAMIKE Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Hello Vaughan...... There are no missing pips...... He would have had 3 for a Captain which have been removed and when promoted to Major just one Crown...... The ribbons: 1939-1945 Star Africa Star with 8th Army Bar Italy Star Defence of Britian Medal 1939 - 1945 War Medal Mike
Vaughan B Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Mike, Thank you very much indeed for this onformation. I was told that the guy had been in Africa but was not sure how reliable that information was being 3rd hand. Much appreciated. I am delighted with this addition to my collection. Best regards Vaughan
