Markgraf Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 On the shoulder title can be read "Royal Artillery". But the formation patch is for the Royal Canadian Artillery (attached to the First Canadian Army). Is he British or Canadian?

Take a look here..... http://www.veterans...._report/canloan Mike More likely the reverse - a British officer serving at First Canadian Army, possibly AGRA (Army Group Royal Artillery (although the term applied equally to RCA)). A formation patch was not indicative of the wearer's nationality. Clive
Markgraf Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 Thak You Gentlemen! On the back of the photo can be read a dedication : a mon grand [unreadable] and a signature: Howard. In addition, a blue ink date stamp: 1944 JUNI 20 (I'm not sure that is contemporary).
