Hi,

Russian imperial medals are not my field of interest.Owned this for ages so thought i would seek a bit of advice .....

Medal appears genuine, slightly confused as numbers and class are engraved ???

any advise as age and originality etc greatfully recieved.

Hello Steve;

I'm sorry to say that I don't like the cross, certainly not the engraving. In my experience, this is just not what period cross look like.

But you may be better served if a heavy collector of St.George Crosses would comment on it.

You said you "had this for ages" How long ago do you estimate you had it? Where did you get it?
