JapanX Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Documents for the Khalkhyn Gol Badges are pretty dull in design and have no photos of cavaliers inside. Here comes the most interesting (and rare) first type of document for first variation of the badge.

JapanX Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Photo gallery of cavaliers of this badge can be found here http://gmic.co.uk/in...adge-cavaliers/ Cheers, Nick
kaigunair Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 great post about a little studied war. A few years back I went to all the russian antique stores in my area hoping to find these exact badges. I would often see alot of 80's era pins in there as well as at the local swap meets, but never ran into these. Still, nice to see a post on them.

Pretty salty variation 1 of the Khalkhyn Gol currently at eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Russian-Soviet-Mongolian-Halkingol-Badge-Medal-Early-Type-1940-Russia-/160876764846?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2575009eae Cheers, Nick

If I did, I'd probably want to first get one of the soviet gold star awards made of pure gold (hero of the soviet republic?). A fellow collector friend, who has authored quite a number of books on jpn military subjects actually showed me a few of those russian medals. He had also returned one back to its owner. I think those are super $$$$ though....
