PiotrMRudnicki Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Dear Friends, I need all informations about Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment 5 (Thorn, Landwehr Inspektion Graudenz, Westpreussen). Its very hard to find anything. I need something about a history (Tannenberg battle especially), uniforms, photos, staff, etc. Apart this I will reenact a oberleutnant of this regiment (August 1914) and I need a little bit of help. My first question is IO Degen field hanger (not parade). I have no informations about it. Could you help me? . Best regards, Piotr M. Rudnicki Poland P.s. Marcin L Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Piotr, As far as I know, LIR 5 was part of 11 Landwehr Division. It seems that (based on Ruhmeshalle...) this 11 LD was not involved in Tannenberg battle at all. The first battle on the eastern front was Winterschlacht in Masuren, from 7 to 22 February 1915. After that engagement they were involved in battles at Lomza/Osowiec and Bialystok. You can find more information on-line, here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/11._Landwehr-Division_%28Deutsches_Kaiserreich%29 Wish you luck with your reenacting. Marcin
PiotrMRudnicki Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Sorry Marcin, A zresztą chyba możemy pisać po polsku. Poniżej orde battaile 8 armii - sierpień 1914: 70. Landwehr-Brigade 6 Bataillone, 6 Schwadrone, 2 Batterien (12 Geschütze)Kommandeur: Generalmajor Breithaupt Landwehr-Infanterieregiment 5: Oberstleutnant Zimmer Landwehr-Infanterieregiment 18: Oberstleutnant von Wedel Zugeteilt von der Festung Graudenz: 1 Festungs-Maschinengewehrabteilung 1 Ersatz-Maschinengewehrkompagnie 5 Landwehr- und 1 Landsturm-Schwadron vom XVII. und XX. Armeekorps: Rittmeister Dahms 2 Landsturm-Batterien vom XVII. Jeśli wiesz coś ciekawego o LIR 5, to napisz... http://www.rowery.olsztyn.pl/wiki/miejsca/1914/warminsko-mazurskie/mielno Pozdrawiam, Piotr
