Linasl Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Greetings. I just bought from an online auction a medal that appears to be Czech or Slovak in origin - due to the rampant lion design. I need help identifying it. Please take a look at the photos. If you recognize it, can you please tell me from what country, its name, what it was awarded for, and anything else? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Linas PS: if not Czech or Slovak, any lead in the right direction would also be helpful. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-3713-0-30017700-1359472271.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-3713-0-08221800-1359472283.jpg
paul wood Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Austria, Province of Styria or Stiermark, one of the Austrian contingent will give you the exact nature of the award. Paul
Christian Zulus Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Dear Linasi, you bought a "Goldenes Ehrenzeichen des Landes Steiermark" - "Golden Sign of Honour by the Province of Styria". It is the lowest class of this Austrian provincial order, but the orders from Styria have an nice design and are very well manufactured :-) On the official governmental site of the province of Styria you will find all informations about this order: http://www.verwaltung.steiermark.at/cms/ziel/74836111/DE/ All the best from Vienna Christian
