Matt Richards Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) I have a 1943-marked web shell dressing bag where the words "Shell dressings" have been painted over with a black square and the letters "BR" stencilled over it in white. I've looked around the Internet and found other "BR" bags, but no explanation as to what they signify. I had heard once about these bags being repurposed as tool bags for civilian or Home Guard use, but I'm not sure if these markings are connected to that. I've even contacted KarkeeWeb.com and they didn't have an answer either. I don't suppose "BR" stands for "box respirator" ... Edited March 15, 2013 by Matt Richards
coldstream Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Matt, I wonder if the B stands for burns, ie a first aid bag with contents purely for burn victims as against shell dressings for bullet and shrapnel wounds. Regards Simon
