pinkcarnation Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Can anyone tell me about this medal that was with my Great Uncle's medals. He was in the British Army in World War I and the Australian Air Force in World War II. Thank you.http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_03_2013/post-15414-0-07173600-1364258346.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_03_2013/post-15414-0-86076600-1364258399.jpg Jennifer
JBFloyd Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) It appears to be a medal for regular attendance at church or a church-related school or organization. The "Feed My Lambs" inscription is a biblical reference (John 21:15) often used by schools. The light construction and stickpin attachment also points toward a non-governmental source. redoctober Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 It looks like the writing at the bottom says "National Society Depot" So yeah, Jeff's pretty much on the button! Cheers, Tom
pinkcarnation Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks very much for your feedback. He kept this medal with his other campaign medals and I have wondered for ages what it was. Jennifer
