Mervyn Mitton Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I bought some months ago, these attractive models of Italian Regiments. I would think they are from the Napoleonic period and each represents a different type of Regiment. From left : Dragoon , Grenadier , Infantry , Hussar. Each one is 12 inches high (30cm) and appears to be made of a plaster - they are mounted on blocks of Italian marble. They make a fine display and are in good condition. I will be interested to see if the model experts agree with my description ? If you have any idea of when they were made - or, of value the info. will be appreciated. Ulsterman Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 You know after the Bruni post I was a little disappointed to find these. cool though.
IrishGunner Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) Actually, I like these figures a lot. I have two similar Goebbel porcelain figures - Napoleonic artillery and a US artillery captain. Edited April 4, 2013 by IrishGunner
ColinRF Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 The subjects aren't Italian - you have left to right (IMO) an Empress Dragoon of the Guard, a Guard Grenadier, a young guard or line Voltiguer, and a Chasseur a Cheval of the Guard. Cheers Colin
Mervyn Mitton Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 Thankyou Colin - that certainly makes a difference. A case of jumping to conclusions because of the Italian label. I only come occasionally to this forum to admire the models - Ulsterman has referred to a post by Bruni - I can't find this - what was the association ? Mervyn
Ulsterman Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) The Italian Bruni sisters....in bikinis...Something witty that I think Chris posted. I read it just before your topic came up and had a rather different image in mind....Italian models, Sarkozy era.... Edited April 9, 2013 by Ulsterman
