muckaroon1960 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) recently acquired these 2 asiatic pacific campaign medals and they have some difference? These differences are in the thickness, the ribbons and the brooch suspenders? Left hand is thicker than the other, ribbon cotton is horizontal as they all are normally but the right hand one is vertical? Brooch is 12mm crimp on the left and 9mm crimp on the right which would suggest a modern striking but the ribbon is one the likes I've never seen before? Left hand one is very detailed, right not so but both are the same diameter? No maker marks on either medal. Edited April 24, 2013 by muckaroon1960

army historian Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 The vertical weave ribbon appears to be Philippine manufacture, I had a Philippine Liberation Medal with the same weave. George
muckaroon1960 Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Weave! Thats the word I was looking for. Thanks for that information much appreciated. Any ideas as to its age?
army historian Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 The Philippine Liberation Medal was issued to my father by the Philippine Government in the early 1980's, made by "El Oro". George
