Laurence Strong Posted May 12, 2013 Share Posted May 12, 2013 Hello It has King George III's monogram on the barrel so it is the correct time period. From what I have found out the 27 - 3 - 12 are not dates but weight indicators. The 27 equals 27 hundred weight or 3024 lbs, the second number indicates "quarter hundred wieghts" or in this case 3/4 which is 84 lbs and the last number is 12 lbs. So upon manufacture this barrel weight 3120 lbs. As to manufacture, short of a makers mark it would be hard to tell.
