Bought this WW1 Training Grenade from a local collectibles/antique shop.

It is dated on the bottom plate 1916. Made by S.B & Co Ltd and is a mark 5.

There are also some casting marks on the main body. Striker, spring and primer are all there and it does work as, in it strikes the "Inert" primer.

I have researched the S.B & Co but cannot find any information on the net?

A very nice addition to your collection. This is the first one of these I've seen though inert specimens of the "real deal" seem to abound at local shows.

I hope some of the members who know more about this will post.

I am wondering if these might be quite scarce.

    Thanks for posting it.

    Regards

    Brian
