napoleonic pewter badge ..any ideas

Hi ,picked this early badge up ,no idea as to regiment..i believe its early as its pewter...any ideas folks !!

The style of the bugle is wrong for British and, I think for French. Other than that, no idea, I'm afraid. How is it meant to fasten? A shot of the reverse might help.

no fittings to rear ,it would have been sewn direct on......I thought for some reason maybe American ...
