David M Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Hi I have been looking for a Oberförster Schaefer in Kulik for....well quite some time. Purely by chance I found out that his name was pronounced Schaefer but written Schefer. the place he worked was written Kullick in stead of Kulik. I know he got a PROA4 and a PROA3mSchl at his pensioning somewhere in the mid 1890's. I am wondering if he is in one of the DOA's 1904/5 or 1908/9. I dont know his firstname, but I guess Schefer with one f is not that common. A scan would be nice, when available. regards David
Guest Rick Research Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Spelled "Kullick" in the 1893 Prussian Court and State Handbook. RAO4 18.01.94 as Forstmeister in Kullik (yes Kullik), Kreis Johannisburg RAO3S amazingly 25.01.96 as Forstmeister zD in Vorder-Pogobien, Kreis Johannisburg Dead before the 1905 Ordensliste (so by 1904)
David M Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 (edited) Hi Rick Thanks, and so quick!! I am guessing his RAO4 was for his 50 years service. He got the RAO3S at his pension, as per some prussian Forstmagazine I downloaded earlier this afternoon. Where did you find these exact dates? Edited June 23, 2013 by David M
Guest Rick Research Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 The annual Prussian Ordenslisten. About every 10 years or so (1868, 1877, 1886, 1895, 1905) they re-did them so we then can tell who was no longer alive. In between the "big" issues they put out annual supplements. The last supplement, unfortunately for all of us, ended with January 1913. There never was an edition printed to January 1914. There were rarely first names before 1906. I don't have the 1877s or supplements, so really only from 1886 to 1913.
