Haven't a clue, us, if there even is a way to tell Allgemeine SS from Waffen SS? Cheapo Obersturmführer peeled his tab off, sewed in his Hauptsturmführer's second stripe... and had to move the pips to space nicely.

OK, you who are wise in the ways of such dark, ungentlemanly things... are these OK?

I guess that anything is possible, but that is definitely a lot of trouble to modify or promote an SS officer. Supplies must have been really scarce or the officer really broke.

Both look OK.

Tabs were often bastardised by their owners on promotion.

I've done it myself .............. with police shoulder boards! ;)
