Chris Boonzaier Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 These 7.5cm Shell casings found at Verdun... Seen to be Skoda Mountain Gun rounds... I am not sure how many were in service with the Germans...
Les Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) Chris, "at" or very near Verdun? There were two Austrian divisions that were in the lines near the Meuse during the later part of 1918. Austrian assault troops did use modified and lightened mountain guns for getting up close and personal. It's possible the brass could have been theirs. Edited August 2, 2013 by Les

Hi, Very "At"... found by a friend who lives there. The germans were using the Skoda 7.5mm as Infantry Arty for close up work, it was known as a 7.5 cm GebK 15 best Chris
Chip Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Here's the head stamp on my Austrian mountain gun cartridge case. At the bottom it says, "7,5 cm M15". The manufacturer is Berndorf. Both the case and the fuse are dated 1917. Hope you can see it well enough. Chip
