I would have thought around $500, however if you have two buyers who both have the badge and want the case possibly more.

Years ago cases made very little but now collectors like to have an original case for their orders.

I see that this fine case shows some damage, but it's an old piece from, let's say, 1870 ca.

I think that it's worth the price asked by the seller.

Yes, in the past, besides very rare cases (collars, grand crosses), they weren't really expensive.
