Jock Auld Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Guys,Got this yesterday, nice and clean still in its cover! Some of the pics are of the Barracks at Belsen and one of part of them them being built!Parade is through Celle I think but I will have to do a bit more leg work.Jock:)
J Temple-West Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 A very nice early album , Jock. Thank goodness for the outer case which has kept it in mint condition. It should be quite easy to track down the 17th's (Regiment Braunschweig) history.... A good starting place http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gliederungen/Infanterieregimenter/IR17.htm
Jock Auld Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 John,Thanks for the link, I do really like 'lexicon', it is great for tying down the detail.17 Regt is local to me, sadly there is no name with the album so what you see is what you get so to speak, there are lots of pics but the later part of the album is the sort of pics one would buy at the 'kanteen' perhaps and as such no so interesting.I always thought those guys wore the skull and cross bones though?Jock:)
