The cheapo German recipient chopped off the "arm wrestling donut" suspensions on the Crosses of Liberty just to make things "fit" neatly on the too small homemade ribbons! Even so, that's the correct 1918 3rd Class ribbon, which suggests to me the original wearer...wore these originally. I've never seen TWO 1918s to a German for 1918 before, and if we can ever get the Finnish archive index cards transcribed by somebody over there, this could/should someday be traceable.
