Did the M87 kochgeschirr have the provision for carrying the spork as the later models?

No it doesn't

In some early pictures they look to be using a spoon not sure when they went to the spork.

Evidently, the Eßbesteck (spork) was introduced along with the M1910 Kochgeschirr.

Here's a picture where they're still using a spoon with m10, early diagrams have it carried inside the tornister. note maybe letters from home tucked inside the tunic cuffs.

Bought this back up a chum told me the picture is Reichswehr 1932! sorry gents, give up can't get anything right lately should know better looking at the Feldmützen.
