Dave Danner Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Hi, There was an officer named Hans Herrmann who was in 1914 an Oberleutnant in II./Füs.-Rgt. Nr. 36 (19.8.00 Lt., 27.1.10 OLt., 19.8.14 Hptm.) and is shown in the Ehrenrangliste only as a Maj.a.D., no other wartime units listed Since he was from a battalion based in the Duchy of Anhalt, he would seem a shoe-in for the Friedrichkreuz. The Hptm. Hans Herrmann who shows up in the AK rolls is listed only as "Herrmann, Hans, Hauptmann, z.Zt. Führer d. Fliegerschule d. Fliegerersatzabteilung 1, Altenburg". This should be him, but does anyone have any confirmation that the Hptm. in FR 36 was the officer in the Fliegertruppe? There is also a KP Hptm. Herrmann, no first name given, in Roth's volume on Saxon awards. He received the SA3aX in 1916 as a Hptm. on the staff of the Stabsoffz.d.Fliegertr. AOK Süd. I suppose this might be him too. Thanks, Dave
Soderbaum Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Hi Dave Interesting information. The RQL from 1902 to 1906 gives the first name for the Herrmann from FüR 36 as Johannes. Hans is a normal shortening of this first name. Does the Roth reference says he was at stab Stofl Süd ? Maybe he was actually the Stofl Süd. Do you by chance have date and/or place of birth..? Gunnar
Dave Danner Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 Hi Gunnar In Roth, it says "b. St Flieg AOK Süd". No FR 36 Stammliste later than 1895 that I know of, so I can't find a DOB/POB. Dave
