IrishGunner Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) Not a lot of information out there on this medal. Supposedly created in 1920 for volunteers who fought to protect the the new Czech state created afterWorld War I, especially against the Hungarian Bolsheviks. Not sure of its originality. Thoughts from the Czech experts? Edited January 1, 2014 by IrishGunner
skyeman Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 hi, this award is rather common (as well as the ribbon), so faking it wouldn't really pay. It was introduced in 1938 as an award for all volunteers who took part in defending (mainly) the Slovak border from 28.X 1918 to 31.VII 1919 hope it helps, s.

IrishGunner Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Official name of this cross is "Pamětní odznak Čs. dobrovolce z let 1918-1919" Okay, so, I've seen this medal also called, "Pametni odznak pro ceskoslovenske dobrovolniky z let 1918-1919" What's the difference? One is a cross and one is a medal... Who got what? Will the real, "Commemorative Decoration for the Czecho-Slovak Volunteers in the year 1918-1919" please stand up...
