Noor
Hi all, I picked up this three place buckle but struggling with the maker marks. First at all these are so small that I can't figure out exact details. It is more like a golden colour so any ideas of the materials? Gold plated bronze, etc? Perhaps someone can help me with the maker marks?

Mervyn Mitton
Hi Timo. Do you think this has a military use - seems very small and 'fiddly' for most pieces of equipment. I can't make out the full marks - I think the Anchor is there for Birmingham - can you make out a date letter ? Mervyn
Noor
Its for mini medal bar (I have seen these with the medals before). I didn't make out anchor, (kings) head instead but I am not sure at all. I will try to do better scan tonight. Pretty sure that the date letter is "D". Thanks for your assistance Mervyn, Timo
peter monahan
So, likely silver or silver plate, privately made by Benjamin Smith for soldeiers/veterans to wear their medals on. Cool!
