John,

It is a petrol type blow torch that versions of were issued to vehicles as part of their equipment. I have seen them with acceptance marks and I got one before christmas very similar to the one pictured but whether it was issue or not will remain unknown without any acceptance marks to confirm it. It is not out of the question that it was issued to a vehicle or as a general tool to say Pioneer etc?

They are of the period if that is any help.
