Guest Rick Research
nice hard permanent green lacquer-enamel on zinc as awarded in 1917. The 1916s were chemically smoked bronze, and the 1918s were just zink. This is one of those awards that by statute was ONLY to be awardedwhen no other WW1 Bavarian award had been bestowed already andwas no longer to be worn when any other Bavarian award WAS bestowedbut very often they ARE worn like this, quite fairly indicating rear and front merit.[attachmentid=29291]

Gary B
Thanks Rick, You are a fountain of knowledge! My example has some white spots on it so I assume it is a zinc example.Gary B
