muckaroon1960 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) I Have in my collection a WW1 Victory medal to Pte T Leedham 11688 Warwickshire Regiment but the reverse has been erased. All the wording and laurels have completely gone? Very strange. Has anyone seen this before and why has this been done? Could it be the recipient didn't believe it was The Great War for Civilisation? Bilco Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Hi Muckaroon, Can I suggest that you post this query in the 'Interallied Victory Medal' section, on the British Victory Medal thread - http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/48253-british-victory-medals/page-8 There are people there who have seen most things to do with Victory medals, and migfht be able to help you. Bill
peter monahan Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Very interesting and odd. I wonder if that is the explanation. If so, I wonder that he kept it at all. Bill's suggestion is a good one. Do let us know what you find out, please. Peter
