Hi all, very new to the forum, so sorry if I am not too clued up on the different terminology of the forum, but here goes.

I have inherited a medal from my grandfather. It is in 100% mint condition with Navy / Royal Blue ribbons and four clasps or hooks attached. the medal says in a circle in the centre THE INSTITUTE OF CIVIL DEFENCE. Then under that it says FOUNDED 1938.

On the reverse of the medal it says 'Awarded for services rendered (31).

I was just wondering if anyone has any more information of this medal as it was not my grandfathers as he inherited it from a gentleman my grandmother worked for.

    Many thanks in advance

    Steve
