Brian R Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Hi Guys - I have had this bar for years and am now considering selling it. Before doing so, I want to make sure it is right. Is the 1868-1907 Baden Silver Merit Medal wrong for this bar? Shouldn't it be a plain yellow ribbon? In this case, is this a ribbon for the 1908-1916 Friedrich II Silver Medal of Merit and that is what should be there? If it is wrong, isn't the 1868-1907 medal more valuable? I appreciate the help! Brian
dedehansen Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Hello Brian, I have no problems with this bar. It is the silberne Verdienstmedaille am Bande des militärischen Karl Friedrich Verdienstordens. The medal is the same but with different ribbons for merit ( yellow ) or this one for military merit. The only thing I don´t like is the suspension for the Baden medal, but no problem. So if you get rid .... Kind regards Andreas
Beau Newman Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 The Baden medal was probably awarded for service in China so, the period is correct.
Brian R Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Guys - Thanks for the responses. I'm pleased to know that this bar is correct - and I've learned something new in that there were two different ribbon options. Best, Brian
