Mark McM Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Hello All, I recently acquired a nice OR's leather belt. It is stamp marked as follows: 68R F Is this a unit marking or is it size related?? Thanks!
120RIR Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 How about some photos? They might be of some assistance.
Chip Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 The 68R is a regimental mark. The "f" if it is a lower case "f", could stand for feldbrauchbar, a stamp that was normally an ink stamp and indicated that the belt had been refurbished and was suitable for field use. Chip

No, it's a upper case 'F'. Stamped a space or two away from the 'R'. Somebody on another forum mentioned the F might be for a field telephone unit. Will try to get a good pic....
Hoss Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) Mark I've seen it to on leather goods it was a couple of m16 helmet chinstraps I had that were riveted and stitched, guys told me what it mean't a few years ago but typical me I've forgotten. I don't think its in reference to a unit though. Eric Edited November 5, 2014 by Hoss
