DDR Hans -Beimler-Abzeichen der FDJ

A small badge issued to members of the FDJ. The numbers at the bottom of the badge stand for the following;

Stufe I Für 8.Schuljahr (1967-78)

Stufe II Für 9.Schuljahr

Stufe III Für 10.Schuljahr

Hans Beimler was a German communist, member of the

German Communist Party and a deputy in the Reichstag .

Hans Beimler fought in the Spanish civil war as political Kommisar

(Political Kommisar of all German battalions in the SPANISH CIVIL WAR)

of the " Thälmann - Bataillon" the XI. International brigade. He was outside Madrid in 1936.)

There are a number of badges awarded in the FDJ bearing Hans Beimler's name
