Ribbon Bar - with "Mention in Despatches" on France and Germany Star

Hello all,

i recently found this Ribbon bar during a house cleaning - i wonder why the "Mention in Despatches" Device is on the France and Germany Star.

 

From left to right:

1939 - 1945 Star / Africa Star / France and Germany Star / War Medal

 

Are this bar otherwise legit or a fantasy piece?

He was probably awarded the MID during the France and Germany campaign and thought it should go there.   Mervyn

Yes Maybe. Its my first british ribbon bar - its very crude made so i believe its made by the soldier himself.

The Only Thing i found in the paperwork i found with the bar. 

The soldier on the left is wearing a four place bar. 

I didnt know If they realy belong together

This is not a professional tailors piece! most likely done by the veteran , if you have a name it may be possible to confirm the MID, looks like they are Royal Tank Regiment

unfortinaly no name. It came from an old lady - she died recently. All i know from her daughter is that the sister of the old lady married an english soldier (maybe thats the wedding photo)

But thats all.
