Ian Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Good evening all, I thought I had this Oberstleutnant identified, or at least that I was well on my way to ID'ing him, but alas I was wrong. He is wearing a possible/probable Leopold Order-Ritter, probably a silver and a bronze Signum Laudis, one other medal on a bravery ribbon and a KTK. I am hoping that someone on this forum will be able to decipher the name for me. I was going to add my thoughts on his name, but I may have muddied the waters. Cheers,Ian
Elmar Lang Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The name, is "Armand", but I'm not sure whether this is a family or a first name...
Ian Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 Elmar, Thank you. That was the name I thought as well. I have not been able to find an Oberstleutnant Armand in any of my Rangliste, so now I will search for a a first name of Armand amongst the Heer and Landwehr.
Ian Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 I conducted a page by page search of my 1918 Rangliste and I believe that the mystery man is:Armand von VORNER, Infanterieregiment Nr. 2. Promoted to Oberstleutnant 01 January 1917.
