dedehansen Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Hi friends, what is missing on this chain ?could it be a german cross in silver or a Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuz ?Here his mini with the awards from his medal bar and his wounded badgeIs it possible to ID his former owner ?RegardsAndreas
ÖSTA Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) Andreas,Could the missing mini also be an EK1? Edited July 24, 2015 by ÖSTA bad spelling
dedehansen Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 Andreas,Could the missing mini also be an EK1? There is an EK 1 with Wiederhohlungsspange on the longer one.I think this is an error, because he wore both minichains.RegardsAndreas
ÖSTA Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Andreas,Looks like an EK2 with wiederhohlungsspange (57er).. Therefore, it would make sense for the missing to be EK1. The second Frackette is complete. So therefore, I think the mini chain was worn as it was with an an EK1 in originalgroße. Of course, you could be right with DK/RK. KVK (silber). I hope so.What a great group.Regards
dedehansen Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 Sorry, they are different, look at the reverse side from the EK´s andplease look at the KVK´s bronze and silver.RegardsAndreas
ÖSTA Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Hi Andreas,Not sure I agree with you. Why no KVK1 on the larger chain? I suspect this was worn as full size. On the smaller chain, the EK is obviously 2nd class. The next higher would logically be EK1. I take your point about the reverse details. But if the larger chain shows KVK2, why not also an EK2. As you know there are many variations with mini's. Generally the quality of many 57 versions tend to lack detail of previous years.Any ideas yet of who the decorations were awarded to?Kind regards
dedehansen Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Hi ÖSTA,there is no KVK 1 on the longer chain, it is an 2nd class bronze. The KVK 1th class is on the shorter chain, it is silver and the reverseis even. The EK is in front off the KVK 1, so it must allready be a first class one.RegardsAndreas
ÖSTA Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Hi Andreas, I think we need a second/third opinion about this. Hope somebody out there can contribute!!! Whatever the out-come, It's always good to share a debate. Makes research fun.Regards
