Early bundeswehr rank insignia ?

Hello all, 

A friend of me collects early bundeswehr stuff.  Today i found this rank insignia. I will give it to him as surprise. 

But i dont know if it is a early rank insignia.

Yes it is an early piece of rank insignia.  It is missing one prong  though.  Here is a picture from a reference book showing the early rank insignia.
