Constantine S Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Have been trying to identify this for a very long time...Obtained from Eastern European knowing nothing about it. I consider maybe connected with a Greek Eastern Orthodox Church. Solid brass Double-Eagle wearing 2-crowns, wings projecting up, surrounded by wreath, 8-point star (Redemption/God?) above with 2-winged angel/cherub affixed; no markings anywhere, and back is blank.
peter monahan Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 The double headed eagle may well represnet the Russian / Orthodox faith and the cherubs suggests, to me, a religious or fraternal group but other than that I'm afraid I have not insights. Try reposting this to the Imperial Russian forum and see if that gets any responses.
paul wood Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I am very doubtful that this has any remote connections, I suspect is quasi-masonic such as Knight's Templar. Paul I meant it does not have any remote Russian connections, at 61 senility is setting in, time to buy some diapers. Paul
