Glider Pilot Regiment ranks/pilots

Hi Guys

I have a friend who is looking at his father's war service. He served in F Sqn/2 Wing the Glider Pilot Regiment. He qualified as a 2nd pilot in May 1944 and a 1st Pilot in July 1945. He was never more than L/Cpl and his trade is shown as "Clerk" He was 5886646 L/Cpl George Edwards. Son says he has 39/45 Star and F&G Star etc.

This does not seem logical to me???

Any Suggestions?

Sorry only just seen this post,

Seems odd to me that someone would qualify as a Pilot and have a Trade shown as Clerk, will have a dig round and see what I can find out (if anything!)
