Chris Boonzaier Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Some time ago I picked up not one but 2 Militärpass belonging to Uffz. George Hofmann.... Fantastic early Ypres area battles... Poelcapelle, Langemark etc.... more "Ypres" you cannot find! :-)
Tony Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Nice! I used to have lots to do with Ypres including the remains of a gound dug pickelhaube and a 14 Star to a man taken POW in October 1914. I probably still have some bits and pieces somewhere.
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 Hi, here is a write up of a young man killed in the actions of 1914... http://www.kaiserscross.com/40312/179301.html Hofmann had been in the army 2 monhts before his first wound.
Tony Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Great write up and reminded me of a medal group I have to a man killed in the firing line near Hooge, the day before Koopmann was wounded.
