Karl Leister Research

Hello, I got this ribbon bar belonging to Karl Leister and would like to do more research on him but I dont know any of his personal information.  All I have are scans of his award documents.  I just ask for some help to get started researching or anything anyone here could find on him.  Also is there anyplace I can research other than Ancestry as I will use that but without his personal information any Karl Leister could be him.

from what you say above, I assume you have an ancestry account? Your Karl Leister is the entry with a date of birth of 30 June 1893 in Landau. He survived the war and left the Bavarian Army as an Oberleutnant. Attached below, one of the more readable entries detailing his earlier career.
