gsp Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Good evening! Let me show you one of my Military Merit Medals (Militär-Verdienstmedaille in German, Katonai Érdemérem in Hungarian) a.k.a. Signum Laudis. The interesting thing is the edge engraving around that says VOM OFFIZIERSKORPS DES K.U.K. INFANTERIEREGIMENTS NO. 86. As I know it’s not so common to have this engraving ont he edge. Could you show me similar ones and give some explanation? The unit is the k.u.k. Infanterieregiment 86 which was based in Szabadka, Southern Hungary (today belongs to Serbia). Nationality background of the troops in the regiment: 76% Hungarian, 20% Serbian and Croatians, 4% others.
