Ralph A Posted April 9, 2006 Author Posted April 9, 2006 More details. I'm told "around 1820 construction." Comments, if any?
Stogieman Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I would agree ca. 1820 for materials/thin edges. Paint looks really odd, redone??
Guest Brian von Etzel Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 (edited) Paint looks very odd. As for construction process looks pre-1870 other than that... Edited April 9, 2006 by Brian von Etzel
Daniel Murphy Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Ralph, Is that the one Weitze had for sale? It looks identical and is a great piece. I have lusted after that one many times. Dan Murphy
Ralph A Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 Yes, Weitze had it for some time. I have been wanting it for awhile and finally took the plunge. Expensive little sucker. I agree that the paint job looks like a re-do. There is a bit of fuzz caught in one of the arms (not in itself telling) and the reverse looks... "scoured."
