Noor Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Hi all, Among with other items I received these and I am struggling to figure out what are they. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Timo
Megan Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 All Vietnam-era, bottom 2 are US. Top: Unknown, probably one of the 'joke' patches that were made up in country and worn unofficially. Middle: (blue with wing) is 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team (normally seen with a white on blue AIRBORNE arc above). Bottom: (red with sword) is US Military Assistance Command Vietnam.
Noor Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 Thanks Megan. I just were able to find out the same info. Now, looks like airborne patch is missing top scroll. Ranch hand is also an interesting one https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Ranch_Hand http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/foru...ch-hand-patch/
johannis Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 The Ranch Hand patch is a modern reproduction piece. The 173rd Airborne patch is made after 1968,is a bordered edge piece,as Megan said ,it missing the Airborne tab. The MACV patch is early war era cut edge piece.
