Guest Rick Research Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 This dented, bent, and excessively worn badge was given to shockworkers in 1932 at completion of the 5 Year Plan. It would have been silvered originally, but all that remains is shadows of that finish on the copper bronze obverse and in the lower parts of the applied brass Stalin-Lenin busts.[attachmentid=34348]The back plate appears to be copper or bronze but is, typical of the needlessly complicated and crude construction of Soviet badges from this period, actually flashed steel. The screwpost was repaired, and unfortunately there was no sign of any screw disk when I found this locally some years ago. This poor bedraggled relic shows every day of its 74 years, doesn't it?
