Anne Casson Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Below are photos of the box and the pin it contains. From the box, I think this must be an award gifted by the Empress Augusta Victoria. Any information grateful received, including a date range, the nature of the award, and whether this could have been awarded to a foreigner. Thank you P
VtwinVince Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 (edited) Hi Anne, It is indeed a gift of the Kaiserin, these were made by the court jeweller, Wilm, and have a characteristic case. These are highly sought after by collectors, and I would date yours to about 1900. These were indeed presented to foreigners as a court favour on state visits. Edited November 6, 2018 by VtwinVince
