    Below are photos of the box and the pin it contains.  From the box, I think this must be an award gifted by the Empress Augusta Victoria.  Any information grateful received, including a date range, the nature of the award, and whether this could have been awarded to a foreigner.

    Hi Anne,

     

    It is indeed a gift of the Kaiserin, these were made by the court jeweller, Wilm, and have a characteristic case. These are highly sought after by collectors, and I would date yours to about 1900. These were indeed presented to foreigners as a court favour on state visits.
